Not just a sweet Christmasy treat, Candy Canes are the main currency in 99 Nights in the Forest’s holiday event, so here’s how to get your hands on as many as possible.
Christmas time has come to 99 Nights in the Forest, turning the deep, dark woods into a frozen winter wonderland full of snow. However, despite Santa’s magical Elves doing their best to bring some joy to the forest by leaving giant presents for you to find, it’s still as dangerous as ever both during the day and the long nights.
How to get Candy Canes in 99 Nights in the Forest
The two main ways to get Candy Canes in 99 Nights in the Forest are:
- Save Santa’s Elves by gathering coins, buying the special equipment and rescuing them when they appear around the map
- Purchase the Santa’s Helper event class from the Elf Shop, which boosts the amount of Candy Canes you get from regular play
To save Santa’s Elves, you need to first gather gold coins by defeating Cultists or scouring the map. Next, you can then buy specialist equipment from the giant present sack next to your campfire.

To save Elves on a frozen lake you need the ice skates. To save Elves buried in the snow you need the shovel. Then finally, to save Elves stuck up a tree you need the Christmas ladder.
The ladder is single use and you need to make sure you build it on the right side of the tree, otherwise you won’t be able to reach the Elf!
99 Nights in the Forest Candy Cane Rewards
Once you’ve gathered all the Candy Canes you need, return to the in-game lobby to spend them at the Elf Shop.
If you’re planning to play a lot over the course of the event then the Santa’s Helper class is worth the investment. But if your playtime is limited, you’re better off just saving up for the items you want.
