Is Scraggy Shiny in Pokémon Go?
Scraggy is indeed available as a shiny in Pokémon Go. The shiny version of Scraggy, along with its evolution shiny Scrafty, debuted in August 2023 during the World Championships event. However, Mega Scrafty, recently introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, is not yet present in Pokémon Go.
Since Scraggy has not had a Community Day, its shiny form remains relatively uncommon. With the upcoming Mega evolution, now is an opportune time to search for a shiny Scraggy.
What Does Shiny Scraggy Look Like?
The visual changes for shiny Scraggy are minimal. Its skin is only slightly darker, and the scales on its belly are a touch less red. The difference is barely noticeable.
Shiny Scrafty, on the other hand, presents a more distinct appearance compared to its standard form. Its skin becomes yellow instead of orange, with a slightly lighter grey on its belly and eyelids. The mohawk changes from red to an orange hue. Notably, its ‘trousers’ and ‘hood’ (which are actually part of its skin, according to the Pokédex) transform from orange to an acid green color.
Although Mega Scrafty’s assets are not yet in Pokémon Go, its appearance, including the shiny Mega form, can be viewed below. A helpful video from Youtuber is also provided.

Shiny Scraggy Encounter Rates
The likelihood of encountering a shiny Scraggy in Pokémon Go varies based on the acquisition method. For Go Pass encounters, the rate will either be the standard shiny rate or a slightly increased rate for uncommon Pokémon. Based on the Pokémon Go wiki, the estimated base rate is 1/512 (+0.2%), while the uncommon rate is approximately 1/128 (+0.8%).
A comprehensive list of all shiny Pokémon currently available in the game can be found in the Pokémon Go shinies guide.
How to Get Shiny Scraggy and Perfect IV Stats

The availability of Scraggy in the wild is influenced by the current in-game event season and active spawns. Occasionally, special events like a Spotlight Hour or Go Tour might feature Scraggy, offering an opportunity for shiny hunting. However, without specific event announcements for shiny Scraggy, obtaining one typically relies on chance.
To increase the odds, players should encounter every Scraggy they find. For Pokémon without boosted shiny rates, the average is approximately 1 in 500. This means that, on average, one shiny Scraggy might appear for every 500 encounters. It is important to remember that this is an average, and having 499 encounters does not guarantee the next one will be shiny.
Acquiring a shiny can require checking a significant number of Pokémon.
Scraggy 100% Perfect Stats in Pokémon Go
A Scraggy with 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go possesses 15/15/15 IVs, resulting in a maxed-out, 100% IV Pokémon suitable for the 4* Pokédex, raids, and the Master League.
For players at Trainer Level 30 or higher, the ideal CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Scraggy found in the wild are:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 1176 CP
- Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) – 1274 CP
Wild CP values correspond to Trainer Level up to Level 30. These values are provided for simplicity, assuming most players are above Level 30. Players below Level 30 will observe different CP values.

The entire Scraggy evolution line consists of Dark/Fighting-type Pokémon.
