Terminator 2D: No Fate stands out as a visually stunning pixel-art game and a strong adaptation of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. This action-adventure title, which follows the film’s events, offers an engaging experience regardless of the display used.

However, players with ultrawide monitors may encounter an issue where the game does not natively support their display resolution, resulting in black bars on the sides. Fortunately, a patch created by Rose from the PC widescreen community addresses this by eliminating the pillarboxing effect.
Fix the Terminator 2D No Fate Ultrawide Issue on PC
This patch, developed by Rose, effectively enables ultrawide and broader display support, removing the vertical black bars from the game’s presentation. The installation process is straightforward:
- Ensure Terminator 2D: No Fate is not currently running.
- Navigate to the GitHub link and download the latest patch file, specifically Terminator.2D.ultrawide.v0.1.zip, found under Assets.
- Locate the game’s installation directory and extract the contents of the downloaded zip file there.
- After extraction, launch Terminator 2D: No Fate. The game may take slightly longer to start as the mod integrates, but it should then run with the black bars removed.
The following images illustrate the patch in action, as provided by Rose.

A few known issues are associated with this patch:
- Minor UI imperfections may be present.
- The culling zone for objects and enemies might appear narrower than the screen size.
- The optional CRT filter could cause increased distortion compared to 16:9 aspect ratios.
It is advisable to monitor the GitHub page for potential updates from Rose. Should there be a need to remove the mod, simply deleting the files that were added during installation will revert the changes. For a consistent ultrawide experience, keeping the patch installed is recommended.
While official ultrawide support from the developers would be beneficial, there is currently no indication of such plans. The future, however, remains uncertain.
