Introduction
This Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow Trophy Guide assists players as Magpie navigates The City, acquiring valuables and uncovering secrets about the Keepers and Baron Northcrest.
Step 1: Complete all Missions in Immersive Mode and with Master Thief Status
Before starting any missions, ensure the Microphone setting is on Immersive Mode to work towards unlocking At One With the Shadows. The microphone can then be muted to negate Immersive Mode’s effect, making it easier to earn the trophy while pursuing Master Thief Status in each mission.
To achieve Master Thief Status for a mission, players must collect all gold and all collectibles, avoid alerting guards, and refrain from killing any guards in a single run. If a guard is killed or alerted, reloading a checkpoint will not reverse this on the results screen, preventing Master Thief status. In such cases, the entire mission must be restarted. If an alert is imminent, reloading the checkpoint before it triggers is advisable. Refer to Shadow Incarnate for details on achieving Master Thief Status across all 7 missions.
Step 2: Complete all Missions Without Using the Bow or Blackjack
After completing the more challenging objectives, focus on replaying all missions without using the bow or blackjack. The bow’s utility functions, such as rope arrows, are still permissible. However, attacking enemies with the bow or blackjack is prohibited. The tutorial for using the blackjack in the first mission does not count against this trophy, as it is unavoidable.
Step 3: Miscellaneous Cleanup
With the primary mission runs completed, any remaining miscellaneous trophies can now be pursued.

Complete all bonus objectives in all missions

Each mission features two bonus objectives. These can be viewed by pausing the game and switching from the primary objective to the bonus objective tab. Many bonus objectives involve acquiring additional loot, which is also necessary for Shadow Incarnate. Some objectives require specific actions.
- Stonemarket
- The Trader’s Keep holds valuable goods overnight – unless I get in there!
- Loot the Trader’s Keep, accessible via the sewers in the main courtyard.
- Folks round here love leaving their windows open. I’ll give them a reason not to.
- Steal all loot from the 3 opened windows on the map.
- The Trader’s Keep holds valuable goods overnight – unless I get in there!
- Somerville Observatory
- If I were City Watch, I’d stash supplies in those perimeter towers. Lucky for me, I’m not.
- Loot the chest in each of the 3 perimeter towers.
- The Observatory’s got a rare collection on display. It’ll be even rarer once I’m through.
- Loot all 6 items from inside the locked glass cases. The key for these cases is on a library shelf, or the glass can be smashed with the blackjack.
- If I were City Watch, I’d stash supplies in those perimeter towers. Lucky for me, I’m not.
- Ravencourt Manor
- One of Cassandra’s girls wants a set of rare perfumes – I can deliver that.
- Collect the 5 perfumes located around the map.
- Those repulsive red banners… Let’s burn every last one.
- Use fire arrows to shoot all 4 red banners on the manor’s exterior. Ensure no arrows are missed or wasted, as only 4 fire arrows are available in this mission.
- One of Cassandra’s girls wants a set of rare perfumes – I can deliver that.
- New Quarter 1
- A corrupt guard hides his stash in an empty jail cell. Risky, but I can find it.
- In the cellar area, find jail cells guarded by two guards. After incapacitating them, pick up the key from a nearby table to unlock the cells. One cell contains loot, which is the stash.
- The sewers swallow more than filth – coin, trinkets, secrets. I’ll go dredge some fortune.
- In the small courtyard leading to the tavern entrance, a sewer entrance is located in the center. Drop down and follow the left path to find some loot.
- A corrupt guard hides his stash in an empty jail cell. Risky, but I can find it.
- Dayport District
- Perch, a drunk pirate, claimed he stored his booty in Dayport. He owns a shack here somewhere.
- From the level’s start, go through the window on the right and follow the balcony. Look over the right edge to spot a small ledge with a chest. Move to the balcony with the patrolling guard, then drop to a small wooden platform leading to the chest.
- Wieldstorm Museum’s missing a few display cases. Funny – they were last seen near here.
- From the level’s start, traverse the left side of the map to reach Dayport Iron. In this area, look left and climb the ladder. Enter through the window to smash the cases inside.
- Perch, a drunk pirate, claimed he stored his booty in Dayport. He owns a shack here somewhere.
- The sootman swears he saw something shiny while sweeping the tavern chimneys. Worth a look.
- In the captain’s room on the 3rd floor (where the bow is found), enter the chimney and drop to the middle section to find loot. Be cautious of the fireplace below if it is still active; it can be extinguished with a water arrow.
- Word is the Watch tried summoning gold with a ritual circle in the attic. Let’s see if they succeeded.
- In the captain’s room on the 3rd floor, interact with the books on the right bookshelf to access the attic, similar to the first visit to New Quarter. Once in the attic, place a hand on the central table to spawn loot.
- Looks like the City Watch just got paid – I’m going to have to pickpocket them all…
- Pickpocket all 13 gold pouches from 12 guards throughout the level. There are 13 guards in total, but one guard carries two pouches, and another only has a key.
- Rumors of a stash in the study room – probably guarded, but that’s no problem.
- In the main building room, two guards patrol the 2nd floor. One guard carries a key. After acquiring it, proceed to the Study, where a locked door can be opened with the key, revealing a chest to lockpick inside.
Discover all the lost relics to complete the Clocktower collection

Bugged warning: Lost relics must be collected in a single session. If the game is closed and a save loaded, all previously collected relics will disappear from the Clocktower. However, previously collected relics can be re-collected.
Lost relics are collectibles found throughout the game, totaling 8. One relic is in each level, with the first being story-related. Collecting a lost relic grants an upgrade choice from Cassandra, which is necessary for Tools of Perfection. These relics are also required for Shadow Incarnate. Progress can be tracked via the mission select tab, which indicates if the lost relic challenge for a mission has been completed. Relics are also displayed in the Clocktower. The trophy unlocks after collecting all 8 relics and returning to the Clocktower.
- Stonemarket
- Medallion
- Story related.
- Staff
- In the main courtyard, near the exit to the Clocktower, face the courtyard from the gate. On the first building to the right, climb wooden planks to reach the balcony. Lockpick the chest in the room to find the staff inside.
- Medallion
- Somerville Observatory
- Hammer
- In the Library section on the second floor, a small bookshelf is located in the walkway. Pull books in a specific order: middle, bottom, then top. The hammer can then be retrieved from inside.
- Hammer
- Ravencourt Manor
- Horn
- In the basement, enter the room past the sleeping guard. On the back-left wall, a protruding brick can be pressed to open a secret passage. Open the chest to take the horn inside.
- Horn
- New Quarter
- Bracelet
- In the attic where the story-related mask is found, look up and shoot a rope arrow at the pillars above. Climb onto the rafters to pick up the bracelet.
- Bracelet
- Dayport District
- Cup
- In the workshop, upon teleporting into the locked room or entering from the rafters, look up and use a Rope Arrow on the beam. Climb up, lockpick the chest, and pick up the mace head.
- Cup
- New Quarter 2
- Bangle
- On the 3rd floor of the tavern, navigate through the vents in the bedroom until reaching a dead end. Lockpick the chest in the hallway to pick up the bangle.
- Bangle
- Somerville Observatory 2
- Mask
- At the start of the level, proceed through the sewers to the second set of wooden beams. Climb across to the rope and slide down. The mask is at the bottom inside a sewer grate. Exercise caution to avoid falling from the rope.

A Perfect Heist
Complete a mission with Master Thief status

Refer to Shadow Incarnate for details.
Complete all missions with Master Thief status

Achieving Master Thief status on a mission requires earning all three playstyle accolades in a single run. This is arguably the most challenging aspect of the platinum, as some levels present unforgiving enemy layouts and gold placement, particularly with difficult-to-incapacitate enemies. It is not recommended to combine this with Real Thieves Don’t Use Weapons, as Master Thief is already difficult without weapon use. Below are the playstyle accolades and how to achieve them.
- Scavenger
- Collect all gold and collectibles, including lost relics. The amount of gold varies by level, but progress can be tracked by pausing the game and viewing the bottom of the menu. The most effective strategy for collecting all gold is to safely incapacitate every guard without alerting them. This can be challenging in later levels with heavily armored guards who are difficult to knock out, requiring avoidance instead.
- Shadow
- No Guards Alerted. To achieve this, the “Times Detected” stat on the results screen must be 0. If detected, restarting the checkpoint WILL NOT reset this. The entire mission must be restarted. However, if detection is imminent, restarting the checkpoint before the alert triggers will prevent it from counting. The “Bodies Found” stat does not affect this accolade; an incapacitated body can be found, and the accolade will still be awarded.
- Bloodless
- No Guards Killed. This is generally the easiest accolade, as players typically avoid killing guards unless using sharp arrows. Ensure only incapacitation is used.
- Master Thief
- Everything in a Single Run. This accolade is awarded upon achieving the above three accolades in a single mission run.
The “Knockouts” and “Objectives” stats on the results screen are not critical. Master Thief can still be earned without completing all bonus objectives, depending on their relation to gold collection, and the number of incapacitated guards is not a factor.
Most missions can be completed on the first run, but two missions require specific upgrades for full completion:
- New Quarter 1 requires the Reaching Higher upgrade, which provides 3 Rope Arrows at the start. This is necessary because the mission only contains 2 Rope Arrows, but 3 are needed for different areas.
- Somerville Observatory 2 requires the Reaching Higher upgrade, which provides 3 Rope Arrows at the start. This is necessary because the mission only contains 2 Rope Arrows, but 3 are needed for different areas.
Tricks of the Trade
Acquire your first upgrade.

Refer to Tools of Perfection for details.
All all upgrades.

There are 14 upgrades available in the game. Unlocking upgrades requires collecting a certain amount of gold and finding the lost relic in each level. Both requirements are also necessary for Shadow Incarnate, so upgrades will be acquired naturally during that pursuit.
Unlocked upgrades can be checked via the rewards tab in the pause menu.
Silent Shadows
Complete a mission in Immersive Mode without being heard

Refer to At One With the Shadows for details.
Complete all missions in Immersive Mode without being heard

Upon starting the game, access the settings menu. In the gameplay section, set the microphone to Immersive. In this mode, guards will detect sounds made into the microphone. All missions must be completed in this mode without guards hearing microphone input. This only applies to microphone sounds; being heard from running or falling does not prevent trophy completion.
Players can attempt this by remaining very quiet during gameplay. Alternatively, an easier method involves setting the game to Immersive Mode, then muting the microphone via the in-game menu (by pressing the button and navigating to the microphone icon). Guards will no longer detect microphone sounds, but the game will still register completion in Immersive mode. However, certain actions, such as blowing out candles or calling birds for gold, will be unavailable. While punching can extinguish candles, calling birds for gold is necessary if combining this with Shadow Incarnate. In such cases, it is recommended to incapacitate all guards in the area or ensure they are distant, then quickly unmute the microphone to call the bird, and then mute it again.
Real Thieves Don’t Use Weapons
Complete all missions without using the bow or blackjack

The bow and blackjack are the primary weapons for dealing with guards. However, all missions must be completed without using them. It is not advisable to combine this with Shadow Incarnate; instead, dedicate a separate run for each mission to this trophy, which will simplify both objectives. Below are some tips to ease the run.
- Utility arrows, such as Rope Arrows, can still be used for easier traversal.
- Focus solely on objectives, ignoring looting or bonus objectives, while striving to avoid alerting guards, as there are no means to fight back if they become aware.
- Objects found in the environment, like bottles or hammers, can be used to incapacitate guards if absolutely necessary.
Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves
Wear a Captain’s helmet and knockout every subordinate guard in a level

The Captain’s Helmet is a gold-gilded helmet found in certain levels. To unlock the trophy, equip it and incapacitate every subordinate guard in the level (excluding guards with large axes). New Quarter 2 is the easiest mission for this, as a Captain’s Helmet can be quickly accessed by climbing the lit fireplace to the Captain’s Room, where the bow is found. Climbing will incur minor damage if done quickly. From there, retrieve the blackjack and incapacitate all guards in the level while wearing the helmet.
Returned to Sender
Distract a guard with an item you pickpocketed from them

This trophy can be achieved in multiple locations, but the Stonemarket mission offers the easiest opportunity. A tutorial on pickpocketing features a guard who remains stationary, allowing players to pickpocket him. After acquiring the pouch, throw it ahead of him to distract him.
Long Arm of the Outlaw
Knock out a guard from over 25 meters away

To earn this trophy, incapacitate a guard using blunt arrows from a distance of at least 25 meters. The Dayport District mission is ideal due to its numerous open areas suitable for long-range shots. From the level’s start, follow the left side of the map to find a guard patrolling a balcony on the opposite side, who can be targeted.
Barehanded Burglary
Smash a glass cabinet with your bare hands

This trophy can be achieved in multiple locations, but the Stonemarket mission is the easiest. A glass cabinet is encountered as part of the main objective. Upon reaching the Medallion, punch the glass cabinet it is housed in instead of opening it. If the nearby sleeping guard was not incapacitated, this action will alert him, and punching the glass will cause some damage.
If You’re Happy and You Know It
Make an unconscious guard clap their hands.

After incapacitating a guard, grab their hands and repeatedly clap them together until the trophy unlocks.
Taking In the Sights
Gaze out over the river from the Somerville Observatory overlook.

During the Somerville Observatory mission, a balcony with scaffolding provides access to the building. On this balcony, approach the railing and look out over the river. Remain there for a short period, observing the river, until the trophy unlocks. If it does not unlock immediately, try moving to a different section of the balcony and looking around.
Let’s Start a Bar Fight
Knock out a guard by smashing a bottle on their head

This trophy can be achieved in multiple locations, but the Stonemarket mission is the easiest. Many guards stand perfectly still with their backs facing the player. Grab a bottle, approach one of these guards, and smash it over their head to incapacitate them.
