Terra Invicta, the highly intricate grand strategy game developed by the team behind the acclaimed Long War mod for XCOM, has now confirmed its official release date.
This title is known for its depth, presenting players with numerous options and a complex interface that can be challenging to navigate initially. Despite its demanding nature, the game has demonstrated strong performance on Linux through Valve’s Proton compatibility layer.
The game’s premise involves humanity’s response to the detection of aliens at the edge of the Solar System. This event causes humanity to splinter into seven distinct ideological factions, each with a unique vision for the future and a drive to gain influence among Earth’s nations. Players are tasked with controlling these nations, expanding their reach across the Solar System to exploit resources, and constructing space-faring vessels for engaging in realistic tactical combat.
The full 1.0 release is scheduled for January 5th. This update will introduce a new 2026 scenario set on modern-day Earth, alongside support for additional languages including Czech, Italian, Korean, Russian, and Ukrainian. Furthermore, recent testing builds have incorporated extensive improvements, such as an updated tutorial and a comprehensive overhaul of the user interface, aiming to enhance player accessibility.
