Game publisher Hooded Horse recently unveiled two new titles, Bosslords and Architect of Ruin, while also taking a firm stance against AI-generated assets. As the presence of AI-generated content increases on platforms like Steam, a noticeable decline in quality has been observed. A browser extension is available to help identify games utilizing such content.
In an interview with Kotaku, Hooded Horse confirmed that their developer contracts now explicitly prohibit the use of AI-generated assets. This policy may appeal to those who oppose the integration of AI in game development.
Among the newly announced games is Architect of Ruin, developed by former Valve team members. This title is described as a “completely hand drawn sword and sorcery colony simulation game” where players “Farm, hunt, build, and survive as you rebuild an ancient temple under the gaze of a vengeful god”. While a trailer is not yet available, several screenshots showcase its visual style:
The second title is Bosslords, described as a “fantasy roguelite auto battler” where players “Gather an army of monsters and misfits to march on the Imperial Capital”. The game involves exploring “procedurally generated worlds filled with powerful weapons and artifacts” and recruiting new units for battle.
