Red Dead Redemption: All Stranger Task Locations and Unlock Requirements

Red Dead Redemption features 18 Stranger Tasks, also known as Stranger Missions. To earn the People are Still Strange trophy or achievement, 15 of these tasks must be completed. For the Redeemed trophy or achievement, which is tied to 100% Completion, all Stranger Tasks are required, with the exception of “I Know You” which does not contribute to the overall completion percentage.

These tasks can be undertaken during the main story or in the post-game free roam. Each task automatically unlocks as main story progression occurs, requiring no additional actions to make them available. Once unlocked, they appear on the map as a white question mark, or as a purple question mark or search zone for subsequent stages of multi-part tasks.

This guide is current for the Remaster across PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch 2, and Mobile.

The Stranger task “I Know You” does not contribute to 100% Completion because it cannot be finished during the post-game free roam.
