Sega has announced the release date and time for the newest installment in its football management series, which was previously available only in Japan.
Sega Football Club Champions 2026 is the latest iteration of the Pro Soccer Club o Tsukurou series, commonly known as SakaTsuku. This franchise originated on the Sega Saturn and traditionally focused on managing a Japanese football team with the goal of winning the J-League.

The new edition is scheduled for a global release on Thursday, January 22. It will be available on PS5, PS4, PC, iOS, and Android. The launch time is 12pm Japan time, which translates to 3am GMT.
The game features an official FIFPro license, incorporating 10,000 real footballers. This includes 1,500 players from Japan’s J1-J3 leagues. Additionally, the South Korean K League and Manchester City have secured licensing for the game.
Upon its announcement last year, Sega indicated that players would receive launch rewards if a specific number of pre-registrations were achieved. The company has now confirmed that the target of 2 million pre-registrations has been met.
Consequently, players who begin the game at its official launch will receive the following items for free:
- A choice between Erling Haaland, Tijjani Reijnders, or Rúben Dias
- Two Guaranteed 3-star Prime Scouting Tickets
- 6,000 GB (in-game currency)
- Four Pre-registration Training Card Tickets
- Ten Training Card Pack Tickets
- One Scouting Ticket and one Training Card for every 50,000 total pre-registrations
- An additional 19 Scouting Tickets, Training Card Tickets, or other various tickets
While approximately 25 different SakaTsuku games have been released over the years, only one main installment has previously seen a Western release. This was Pro Soccer Club o Tsukurou! Europe Championship, which launched on PS2 in Europe and Australia under the title Let’s Make a Soccer Team.
