The highly praised point-and-click adventure game, The Drifter, is now more accessible to players globally. This is due to the recent addition of official translations and comprehensive support for community-driven fan translations. The game was recognized as one of the best titles from last year and remains a standout modern point-and-click experience.
Official support has been implemented for French, Italian, and Spanish localizations, alongside full integration for fan-created translations. Dave Lloyd, writer and designer at Powerhoof, stated that “By far the most requested feature for The Drifter has been localization into more languages. There’s a lot out there though, and with over 50,000 words in the game we couldn’t do them all… officially at least…”
Recent Update Enhancements
- A new “wait for click” option is now available for subtitles, allowing players to read at their own pace. This feature is especially beneficial for non-English speakers and those with hearing impairments.
- The controller inventory bar has received adjustments, including an extra slot and improved scrolling animation for enhanced usability.
- Numerous bug fixes, text corrections, and optimizations have been implemented.
The Drifter is officially verified for Steam Deck and compatible with SteamOS.
