Information in this guide applies to the Remastered versions on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch 2, and Mobile platforms.
Hideout 1: Twin Rock
Unlock Requirement: This hideout is automatically accessible from the start of the game.
Begin by locating the rancher near the rocks outside Twin Rocks. Eliminate all Walton Gang members in the vicinity, starting with the two positioned on top of the rocks flanking the wall. After clearing the exterior, two more enemies will emerge from the house, leaving the entrance open. Eliminate them and proceed inside. Cautiously move around the western corner. Upon spotting the gang member holding the rancher’s daughter hostage, activate Dead Eye to neutralize the threat.
Hideout 2: Pike’s Basin
Unlock Requirement: This challenge becomes available after completing the mission “Justice in Pike’s Basin”.
Locate a rancher concealed behind rocks at the entrance of the canyon leading to Pike’s Basin. The Bollard Gang has reportedly stolen his herd, and the objective is to retrieve it. Progress through the canyon by moving between rocks, choosing either the high ground for cover or the lower path for quicker movement. Maintaining a lead on the rancher and eliminating all encountered enemies is crucial, as his death results in mission failure. Upon reaching and clearing the Bollard camp, the rancher will instruct you to eliminate any remaining Bollard Gang members in the canyon while he guides the herd out. Follow the newly appearing red markers on the mini-map and eliminate all targets to complete the challenge.
Hideout 3: Gaptooth Breach
Unlock Requirement: This challenge is unlocked after completing the mission “Man is Born Unto Trouble”.
Begin by meeting the individual near the crate marked with a yellow dot on the map. Proceed into the camp towards the rail house at the end of the cart track, indicated by a blue dot. On the second floor, locate and free Floyd, who is tied up. Provide cover for him as you venture into the mine. Ensure the path ahead is clear by utilizing barrels, TNT boxes, and gas lanterns to eliminate enemies. Follow the tracks until a chest is found at a new yellow dot on the map, then continue along the tracks towards the exit, eliminating any additional bandits encountered. The hideout will be marked as complete upon exiting the mine, provided all enemies have been eliminated.
Hideout 4: Tumbleweed
Unlock Requirement: This challenge becomes available after completing the mission “New Friends, Old Problems”.
Locate a tied-up Sheriff within the remnants of the Tumbleweed jail. Eliminate all criminals in town, then proceed to the mansion to eliminate the remaining gang members. The challenge concludes once all enemies are defeated.
Hideout 5: Tesoro Azul
Unlock Requirement: This challenge is unlocked after completing the mission “The Demon Drink”.
Rendezvous with the Sheriff on the east side of Tesoro Azul, then assault the gates. After eliminating all enemies in town, an objective will appear to eliminate the gang leader located in a house near the east gate. Open the door and enter, carefully moving around the eastern corner. Be prepared to activate Dead Eye the moment the leader, who is holding a hostage, becomes visible. Eliminate the leader without harming the hostage to complete the challenge.
Hideout 6: Fort Mercer
Unlock Requirement: This challenge becomes available after completing the mission “The Assault on Fort Mercer”.
Assist Leon in entering the fort and eliminate all bandits situated on both the upper and lower floors. Afterwards, descend the stairs and open the gate for him. This action will trigger a new wave of enemies; eliminating them will cause the gang leaders to appear. Defeat all three leaders, then open the marked chest to successfully complete the challenge.
Hideout 7: Nosalida
Unlock Requirement: This challenge is unlocked after completing the mission “We Shall Be Together in Paradise”.
Initiate this challenge by speaking with the General. Eliminate all rebel forces within the town, utilizing fire bottles to burn all designated buildings and the two ships during the process. After all buildings are set ablaze, return to the General to complete the challenge.
