Nvidia’s new DLSS 4.5 technology is now available to all RTX gamers through an update to the Nvidia App, following its official announcement at CES 2026.
DLSS 4.5 was initially unveiled at CES 2026, where Nvidia introduced a ‘2nd generation transformer model’ specifically for DLSS Super Resolution. This advanced model builds upon the 1st generation transformer model that debuted with DLSS 4 and the launch of the RTX 50-series graphics cards.
Despite earlier suggestions of a delay, DLSS 4.5 is now being rolled out to users through an update to the Nvidia App. This technology maintains backward compatibility with previous DLSS versions. Users can access the 2nd generation transformer upscaling by adjusting the DLSS Override setting within the Nvidia App, specifically with Presets L and M.

It is important to note that while the DLSS 4.5 suite encompasses the Super Resolution update, a new MFG 6X mode, and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, the MFG 6X mode and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation features are not yet available. They are expected to be released in the Spring.
Further details about DLSS 4.5 are available on Nvidia’s official blog. The Nvidia App typically updates automatically upon launch, but the latest version can also be downloaded manually from Nvidia’s website.
