Reports indicate that the next PlayStation State of Play event is expected to take place in February. This claim comes from NateTheHate, an insider known for accurately revealing unannounced games and presentations.

When asked on X if a State of Play was scheduled for February, NateTheHate responded, “There will be, yes.” This confirmation followed a discussion where the insider reiterated a previous claim about an enhanced port of Red Dead Redemption 2 eventually releasing on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2.
While a February State of Play might seem like a reasonable prediction, given that four of the last five years have featured such presentations in February, the flexible nature of these events means it is not an absolute certainty.
The most recent State of Play, a Japan-focused special, occurred in November 2025. It showcased titles such as Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake, Octopath Traveler 0, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.
Prior to that, the last major State of Play took place in September 2025, featuring games like Saros, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Battlefield 6, Nioh 3, and Marvel’s Wolverine.
Sony‘s confirmed first-party lineup for 2026 includes Saros (releasing April 30), Marathon (March 5), MLB the Show 26, and Marvel’s Wolverine (expected Q3/Q4 2026). Sony is also publishing Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which is under development by Arc System Works, known for the Guilty Gear series.
