Konami has released updated guidelines for video content related to the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game, encompassing both the physical card game and digital titles such as Master Duel and Duel Links. These directives specifically target individuals residing in Japan. Adherence to these guidelines permits creators to upload gameplay videos without needing prior authorization from Konami.

Official logos for content creators’ thumbnails are available on Konami’s guidelines webpage. The company also stipulates that creators seeking to use third-party intellectual property must obtain permission from the respective rights holders. Furthermore, players uploading digital game content are required to ensure their software is updated to the latest version.
Video content may be uploaded to the following platforms:
- 17Love
- Mirrativ
- Niconico
- OPENREC.tv
- SHOWROOM
- Threads
- TikTok
- TwitCasting
- Twitch
- YouTube
Conversely, only screenshots are permitted on:
- Discord
- Twitter (X)
Links to YouTube videos can still be shared through these services.
Additional guidelines, similar to those from other companies, prohibit using these videos to promote external services or businesses, generating profit beyond the platform’s native monetization systems, or endorsing specific religions or political affiliations.
Konami explicitly states that only customers within Japan are authorized to post Yu-Gi-Oh gameplay videos. It remains ambiguous whether this implies a global prohibition on such content or if these guidelines are simply exclusive to Japanese users.
