Side, a prominent provider of gaming services, has officially launched a new studio located in Taipei, Taiwan. This strategic expansion, situated in the Nangang District, has generated 79 new employment opportunities.
The company has maintained operations in Taiwan for eight years, demonstrating strong performance in its quality assurance, localization, and localization QA sectors throughout 2025. During this period, the Side Taipei team successfully completed over 100 projects and saw 10% of its full-time staff receive promotions.
The newly established studio will continue to prioritize these core divisions. Additionally, it plans to collaborate closely with other studios within Side’s global network to facilitate cross-functional projects.
Frank Chang, head of Side Taipei, noted the current dynamic state of the global gaming industry, highlighting the continued growth of the Asian market across console, PC, and mobile platforms. He emphasized Side Taipei’s unique position at an “East-meets-West crossroads,” where individuals possess deep familiarity with both East Asian and American cultural content. This cultural understanding, combined with expertise in QA, localization, and LQA, positions the studio to effectively serve partners across various platforms.
Deborah Kirkham, CEO of Side, stated that the Taipei opening signifies a strong commitment to Taiwan’s gaming industry and its innovative team. She added that Side consistently embraces change, and the Taipei team is no exception. For 2026, the focus will be on strengthening its talented workforce and utilizing AI solutions to benefit clients.
Last year, Side also expanded its global presence by opening two other studios: one in Sao Paulo and another in Saudi Arabia, with the latter being a partnership with Savvy Games Group.
