Konami has announced an upcoming Silent Hill Transmission presentation scheduled for later this week.
This presentation, according to Konami, will unveil the newest developments in the Silent Hill franchise, with a specific emphasis on Silent Hill: Townfall.
The Silent Hill Transmission is set for Thursday, February 12, at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET / midnight GMT.
Since PlayStation has already announced a State of Play presentation on the same day, scheduled for 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM GMT, the Silent Hill Transmission will begin approximately one hour after the State of Play concludes.
Silent Hill: Townfall is one of four Silent Hill projects initially revealed during a Silent Hill Transmission event in October 2022.
The October 2022 presentation, which marked the franchise’s resurgence, unveiled several projects: a remake of Silent Hill 2, the Japan-inspired Silent Hill F, the streaming series Silent Hill: Ascension, and a brief teaser for Silent Hill: Townfall.
Although Silent Hill: Ascension received criticism (despite earning an Emmy for Outstanding Innovation in Emerging Media Programming), both the Silent Hill 2 remake and Silent Hill F garnered positive reception from critics and fans.
Silent Hill: Townfall is a collaboration between publishers Annapurna and Konami. Development is handled by the Scottish studio Screen Burn, previously known as NoCode. This studio is recognized for its earlier titles, Stories Untold and Observation, both published by Devolver Digital.
The studio rebranded from NoCode to Screen Burn last year. Founder and creative director Jon McKellan humorously noted the change, stating, “The studio is not who it was in 2015; it has grown and evolved, now employing coders.”
While Silent Hill: Townfall is expected to be a primary highlight of the upcoming Silent Hill Transmission, other projects might also be featured. Following the positive reception of its Silent Hill 2 remake, developer Bloober Team is reportedly developing a remake of the original Silent Hill, an announcement made by Konami last year.
