Ryan Gosling is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live for the fourth time next month. This appearance will also mark the first-ever musical performance by Gorillaz on the show, as announced by NBC Universal.
The episode is set for March 7, shortly after the band’s new album, The Mountain, is released. Consistent with Gorillaz’s style, the album will feature numerous guest artists, including Sparks, Black Thought, Dennis Hopper, and IDLES.
Gosling’s hosting role precedes his upcoming sci-fi film, Project Hail Mary. Based on a book by Andy Weir, known for “The Martian,” the movie stars Gosling as an astronaut who awakens alone on a spaceship, tasked with finding a solution to a catastrophic event on Earth, and befriends an alien rock creature.
In other Saturday Night Live news, Connor Storrie of Heated Rivalry is slated to host for the first time on February 28. This follows the global success of the Crave original series, which premiered on HBO Max for US audiences and continues to set streaming records.
