Valve has released a new set of bug fixes for Steam users, with a notable improvement for those on Linux or SteamOS who manage extensive game libraries.
Occasionally, the Steam client on Linux-based systems, including the Steam Deck, might incorrectly display Windows games as incompatible, even when Proton is installed. Valve has addressed similar issues in the past and has now identified and resolved another related problem.
The latest Steam Beta changelog details the following updates:
General
- Fixed an intermittent error in the downloads view that occurred when moving game entries between scheduled and queued sections.
Linux
- Resolved a bug that caused Proton games to display as “Not valid on current platform” for users with very large game libraries.
Steam Input
- Fixed a bug in Gyro To Joystick Deflection mode where setting Minimum Gyro Deflection to 0 and Minimum Joystick Output to a non-zero value still resulted in zero output without significant gyro deflection. This change should assist gyro users in fine-tuning games’ internal joystick dead zone sizes.
- Added an option to apply Gyro to Joystick Deflection range remapping and acceleration settings on either a Per-Axis or Circular basis.
- Resolved an issue where Switch Pro Controller Home LEDs would activate even when disabled.
- Addressed a scenario where ABXY button options might be absent from configurations.
The changelog for the Steam Deck reflects these identical updates.
