Bandai Namco has completed the sale of Limbic Entertainment to a private investor specializing in video games. The German developer, previously a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco, is now under new ownership.
This divestment aligns with Bandai Namco’s strategic goal to refine its portfolio, concentrating on areas where the company excels in content delivery. The new private investor is expected to support Limbic Entertainment in its ongoing development of building and management simulation games.
Limbic Entertainment’s current leadership team will remain in place, and the studio will retain its name and identity. Arnaud Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, expressed well wishes for Limbic’s future as an independent studio.

Under Bandai Namco’s ownership, Limbic Entertainment released the theme park management simulator Park Beyond in 2023. Prior to this, the studio was known for its work on titles within the Tropico and Might & Magic franchises.

This sale is one of several recent changes at Bandai Namco. Other notable shifts include the sale of Bandai Namco Studios Singapore to Nintendo and the announcement of Tekken veteran Katsuhiro Harada’s departure after three decades with the company.
