Animal Crossing: New Horizons has received Ver. 3.0, introducing new features and activities. This update also brings a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game.
Among the notable additions for Nintendo enthusiasts are new Zelda and Splatoon promotional crossover items.
These new crossover items are currently available and can be purchased with Nook Miles. However, a compatible Splatoon or Zelda series amiibo must be scanned beforehand. Furthermore, players can invite Zelda and Splatoon-themed villagers to their island. The amiibo required to unlock these features are detailed in this guide.
Unlocking Zelda and Splatoon Promotion Items in ACNH 3.0

To access these new crossover items, scanning an amiibo is required. After scanning, the items must still be purchased using Nook Miles.
Fortunately, most Zelda series amiibo will unlock all Zelda-themed items, and similarly, most Splatoon series amiibo will unlock all Splatoon-themed items.
Amiibo can be scanned at the Hotel Resort to invite villagers to stay (requires the VIP Room), at the Nook Terminal for campsite visits, or on Harv’s Island for photo opportunities. Scanning any compatible amiibo grants access to all collaboration items and may allow unique villagers to reside on the island.
Only five items can be ordered daily from the Nook Shopping app. These items are located under the Special Goods section, within the Promotion tab. Alongside the newly unlocked Zelda and Splatoon items, Mario and Lego-themed items are also available.
