Konami revealed a new JRPG titled Rev.Noir during Sony’s February 2026
event. An initial trailer was shown, confirming the game’s development and introducing its narrative. Currently, Rev.Noir is confirmed exclusively for the PlayStation 5. The trailer and gameplay footage hinted at a plot where a protagonist might reverse time to rescue allies.
The world of Rev.Noir is impacted by a phenomenon known as “lightfall,” and the JRPG’s objective appears to be to lessen or halt its effects. The story begins by showcasing the devastation caused by lightfall, with the main character Asch witnessing the injury and death of allies and widespread environmental damage. A message stating, “I refuse to accept an ending like this” then appears, followed by a rewind of events. Asch is then shown at the beginning of a journey with a young woman, alongside glimpses of various allies and adversaries. The trailer concludes with the phrase, “when hope sparks catastrophe.” The video did not specify whether the combat system would be turn-based or active.
The first teaser trailer for Konami’s new JRPG is available below.
Konami’s recent JRPG releases include Edens Zero. Additionally, the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars launched across various platforms in 2025.
Rev.Noir is currently in development for the PS5.
