MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is set to launch on PS5 and PC on August 6, 2026. A new trailer for the game was recently featured during State of Play.
The trailer provided details on the Unbreakable X-Men team, an Episode Mode, and various launch editions.

A Reborn X-Men Team Faces a New Threat
The first character introduction series trailer revealed the Unbreakable X-Men. As hinted in the trailer, a new threat is approaching Earth in the game’s storyline.
In response, the X-Men reassemble. However, a recent battle has forced many core X-Men members to withdraw from the front lines. With limited fighting strength, Storm, guided by Charles Xavier, assumes leadership and forms a new team, “The Unbreakable X-Men,” to confront the impending danger.
Storm
The team leader, a mutant capable of commanding natural forces like wind and lightning.
Magik
A young mutant highly skilled in both magic and the Soulsword she creates.
Wolverine
Battle-scarred but resilient, he fights alongside the young X-Men with Adamantium claws.
Danger
The AI of the Danger Room, formerly used for X-Men training, which has gained autonomy and a physical form.
Mutants face hostility from humanity, viewed with suspicion and persecution. Despite this, the reborn X-Men persevere, driven by internal conflict as they strive to protect even those who persecute them from the looming threat. The team’s decisions and the conclusion of their story will be a key part of the game’s experience.
Episode Mode Details Revealed
The game will feature an Episode Mode. In collaboration with Marvel Games, the narrative, world, and characters have been adapted specifically for this game. This mode portrays Marvel heroes and villains, including the X-Men, confronting a new threat.
Episode Mode combines American comics and Japanese manga into a new storytelling format for a modern video game. A renowned writer from the original Marvel comics collaborated on building the world and writing the scenario. The story is presented as motion comics, featuring manga illustrated by celebrated artists. The game will include full voice acting in 10 languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin), and the game’s music and audio will support spatial audio with PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech. Beyond visuals and sound, the mode also utilizes the PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless controller’s features to deliver a tactile storytelling experience, offering a unique way to experience Marvel stories distinct from comics or films.

Standard Edition
The standard edition is available for $59.99 USD / €69.99 / ¥7,980 MSRP.
Digital Deluxe Edition
The Digital Deluxe Edition ($84.99 / €94.99 / ¥10,480 MSRP) includes the full game, all pre-order incentives, and a Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass, which grants access to 4 additional playable characters and 1 new playable stage released post-launch (usage information details to come). This edition also includes Howard the Duck (Lobby Avatar) and Cosmo (Lobby Pet).
Ultimate Edition
The Ultimate Edition ($99.99 / €109.99 / ¥11,980 MSRP) includes all content from the Digital Deluxe Edition, plus additional cosmetic items for further customization. This includes a costume for Storm, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Iron Man, and Spider-Man. Spider-Man’s costume is inspired by the Advanced Suit 2.0 from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Costumes are available until August 5, 2027. The Ultimate Edition also includes an Animated Chromatic color unlock for all 20 launch characters.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6, 2026, on PS5 and PC.
Pre-orders will open on February 19, 2026, at all participating retailers and on PlayStation Store and PC storefronts.
